Frequently Asked Questions

How can we help?

What is a Flowercard?

A Flowercard is a miniature bouquet of fresh flowers expertly arranged inside a personalised greetings card.

Are Flowercards made from fresh flowers?

Yes they are! The arrangements are created when the flowers are at their freshest with some of the flowers still in bud. This ensures that they last as long as possible and continue to open once the recipient has taken them out of the box.

Flower substitutions

Whilst we do our very best to ensure that our gifts look exactly as advertised on our website and in our catalogue, occasionally we may need to substitute some of the blooms. This is usually due to seasonal variations or if some flowers are not available at the time. Rest assured we will always substitute with flowers that are of equal or greater value and will match colours as best we can to ensure your gift looks just as pretty.

How is a Flowercard made?

Every Flowercard gift is made to order using freshly picked flowers from world-renowned growers. The flowers are cut to the perfect size and arranged by hand, stem by stem in a sealed oasis base. The perfect finishing touch is your personal message which is printed on the card or label. The majority of our gifts are made from 100% recycled plastic and all are fully recyclable.

How are Flowercards delivered?

To protect these beautiful cards and make your gift extra special, each Flowercard is delivered by Royal Mail in a pretty gift box. You'll find full details on our Delivery page. Our florists' work may be slightly disturbed in transit. Simply pop any fallen heads back into the arrangement and add water to the oasis as needed to ensure your blooms last as long as possible.

How long will a Flowercard last?

Every Flowercard is made with fresh flowers that will last from five days to two weeks - depending on the time of year and the types of flowers used. To ensure you get the most from your Flowercard, the Oasis will need to be soaked regularly. Simply place the arrangement on your draining board or over the sink and, using a small jug, gently soak the Oasis as often as necessary to help your flowers last as long as possible.

How do I care for a trug?

Our trugs are filled with lots of flowers so they require a little more water to keep them looking in tip top condition. Holding your trug over the draining board or sink, thoroughly soak the Oasis as soon as it starts to feel a little dry. Please note that trugs and planters are not waterproof so we recommend you place them on a mat to protect your furniture.

How do I care for a bouquet?

To ensure you get the most from your beautiful bouquet pop it out of the presentation box and trim approximately 2cm from each stem. Place the arrangement in a vase of fresh water and add the flower food provided to keep your blooms looking fresh and vibrant for as long as possible.
